Her hair was wet, and it clung to her face and neck. Her eyes were red, and she was definitely crying. You couldn't see the tear because of the rain, but you knew they were there.
"Please... Wait." You begged her.
Her bloodshot eyes were red, and her expression was desperate.
She choked out another sob, and ran.
You run too.
It's hard to see.
Campus looks different at night, in the rain.
The darkness feels claustrophobic.
You wonder briefly where the moon went, but don't dare look away from the figure running in front of you.
//Since when was she so fast?//
"Mattie!"
You yell.
She probably can't hear you.
It's windy tonight, and it whips at your clothes and drags on your body, slowing you down.
Your feet hurt, you hadn't put on running shoes today.
Your lungs burn from the effort.
You haven't run in so long.
If you had known it would come to this crazy chase, maybe you would have worked out a bit more.
No matter how far you run, you can't seem to gain on her.
It's like a terrible, terrible dream.
You wished you would wake up.
You wake up?
Continue the dream.BeepBEEPbeepBEEpbeepBEEpbeeEP
You roll over in bed.
It's your alarm.
"Oh, fuck no."
"Fuck me."Why da heck do you wanna stay in a dream like this?
Beep boop
That's too bad (lol). How do you identify?

You're //not// ready to wake up.
You slap your alarm clock and then fall back asleep.
Beep boopZzzZzzZzz... ZzzZzzZzz...
Are you sure you want to wake up?
Beep boop
Beep boopYou sit up in bed.
It's best to get this over with.
You feel like shit.
Your head feels like it's been through the wringer.
//What happened last night?//
You can't seem to remeber it clearly. You had a bad dream too, but even those details feel just out of reach. It's unsettling, but you feel like you've been here before. (Well... you are in //your// bed. But the sense of déjà vu is just too strange.)
"You look like shit."
You roll your eyes and turn to face the voice. Madeline, your roommate, stands in the door.
"It's not like I just woke up or anything." You grumble.
She snorts, and walks further into your room. Suddenly you catch the wondrous smell of coffee. Your mouth waters at the scent. Caffine is a bad habit that you haven't been trying to fix. She smirks, striding right up to your bed. You shoot a glare her direction. You love her like a sister, but boy does she piss you off sometimes. She produces a mug from behind her back and sets it on your nightstand with a //clink//.
"You're a goddess."
You grab the hot mug. This was why you were friends. That, and everyone else had already round a place to live last semester. It was kind of a last-minute arrangement.
Sipping the coffee, you savor the sweetness. Maddy rarely brought you coffee... but when she did it was perf-
"What's the catch?" You arch an eyebrow in her direction. There was always a catch with Madeline.
She sat down on the bed and smoothed out the sheets absently. She wore a small, sweet, and despicable smile. "Well..."
You set the mug back on the nightstand.
"Do you remember that guy at the party last night?"
You didn't, actually. But fuzzy details from the party had started filtering back. How much //had// you drank last night? You usually had a pretty good memory, and didn't drink till blackout-drunk.

**? It's hers. It's his. It's theirs(?).Madeline tapped her fingernailson the steering wheel. You sat in her car parked outside the shopping mall. The weather was bleak.
"God. Can't we have //one// good day of weather?" She complained.
You glanced out the window, and watched the raindrops roll down the outside of the glass. A bluish-gray light was cast on your face. You could see it in the reflection.
You had always liked the rain. The smell, the sensation, the //feeling// of a storm rolling in. You didn't say that, though. Madeline was in a strange mood today. It seemed like she just wouldn't care.
How long had both of you been waiting? Matilda was always running late. You shouldn't have even left the house yet. You bounced my head off of the headrest out of boredom.
"You're gonna loose brain cells." Maddie snapped.
Your eyebrows crinckled. She was in a bad mood. You didn't dare ask what was wrong. Maddie was one of my closest friends, and you were well aquainted with her short temper.
I didn't have the energy to protest right now.
//DINGAlingaLING. DinGAlingAling-//
You jumped a little in my seat. Her ringer volume must've been maxed out. "Jeez, that scared me!"
Madeline ignored you, and swiped to accept the call. She brought the phone to her ear and sighed into the speaker. You couldn't see the caller ID. "Is it Mads?" You asked.
Matilda was lovingly nicknamed "Mads". She almost never went by her given name. Your closest friends were called the "Mad M----s", partly because they were certifiably crazy and it suited them, and partly because the name was an old joke that just stuck.
"Hello? Hel- hello?" Maddie's voice was //not// happy. "Mads?" So it was her. "Hey. Where are you?" She paused, I couldn't hear the voice on the other end, so I continued staring out the window.
"You're WHAT?"
She sounded... shocked? Confused? It was hard to tell what emotions were smothered under the overbearing annoyance in her tone.
"Yeah, $mcc here too."
"What?"
"You want to-"
"You want to talk to talk to $mcr?" Matilda and Madeline //always// interrupted each other. It was as if listening to the other person wasn't an option. You stifled a snort of laughter. You hadn't talked to Mads in forever. She had just gotten back from a semester studying abroad in Austria.
Maddie pushed her phone in front of my face. You took it from her. Everyone always commented how paitent you were, or how you shouldn't let them push you around. But honestly it was just how your friendship worked. You and your friends were shitty to each other, then made up for it later tenfold.
You held the phone to your ear.
"Hello?"
There was a crinkling static in the background of the call.
//"Hey! $name!"// Her voice clipped in and out. Where //was// she?
"Hey..." You begin, her voice sounded unusually chipper. "What's up?"
